Frequently Asked Questions
Who is a good fit for Spring Kitchen?
Our kitchen is aimed at food entrepreneurs who have a vision for growing their business and wish to utilize our space as a tool in that process. Whether you have an established cottage food business or wish to try a popup food concept, we offer a kitchen that can help you in achieving your vision.
Do I need a health permit?
A health permit is required if you intend to make food to be sold off premises. If you are hosting a private event or preparing food to be given away for free then a health permit is not required. If a health permit is required for your business we can help you with the process of acquiring one.
What is a shared kitchen?
A shared kitchen is a licensed kitchen for members to prepare and manufacture food. The “shared” aspect means multiple members can utilize the space at once, assuming there is no overlapping needs for equipment.
What if I don’t need my membership for a month?
Since memberships are month to month we understand that your business’s kitchen needs may ebb and flow each month. We offer the ability to freeze a membership for $6/mo for up to 3 months. This allows us to hold your spot in the kitchen for future use.
If I freeze my membership can I still access my storage?
Yes. When a membership is frozen that only applies to hours used for the kitchen and event space. You are free to come and go to access anything stored at the kitchen but you will continue to pay the monthly storage fees.
Does Spring Kitchen offer consulting services?
We do not offer any consulting services, however, we envision a collaborative kitchen space in which those utilizing the kitchen share experiences to help one another in growing their business.
If I bring equipment will others use it?
No, other renters in the kitchen cannot use other member’s equipment without permission. Any equipment stored in the kitchen that does not fit onto a storage shelf will be charged by the square footage.
Is your kitchen allergen free?
No. Members are expected to clean and sanitize their workspace after a shift but due to the nature of a shared kitchen space we are unable to offer a complete allergen free space.
